OXFINITI Team

The team has an extensive background and experience in the Water Industry both in the UK and overseas. This deep knowledge led to the the development of the patented, innovative and highly efficient process to super oxygenate water.

Applications

  • Aquaculture
  • Concrete
  • Pharmaceutical
  • Food processing
  • Storm water treatment
  • Municipal or industrial treatment
  • Supply of emergency oxygen for industrial spills

The process will not only deliver a minimum of 30% saving in energy but it will also reduce H & S risks, improve health of the process, reduce odours and reduce sludge production.

OXFINITI WASTEWATER TREATMENT TECHNOLOGY OFFERS ENERGY SAVINGS

THE Activated Sludge Process (ASP) developed over 100 years ago by Arden and Lockett is used across the world in numerous
wastewater treatment applications. This process relies on micro-organisms breaking down organic matter in a wastewater mixed
liquor using dissolved oxygen. The efficiency of the process has been advanced by technology providers seeking to provide more
efficient oxygen uptake. In particular developers have sought to produce more effective blowers providing the oxygen (air) more cost
efficiently. And secondly by creating smaller bubbles (fine bubble diffusers) and more vigorous mixing (surface aerators/jets) both of
which offer a greater surface area for oxygen between gas and liquid transfer to occur.
As the aeration process is a major cost in wastewater treatment
(~60%), any increase in oxygen transfer offers greater process
efficiency and hence energy cost savings to the operator. The US
researchers looked at this from a different perspective and have
incorporated five innovative technologies in the Oxfiniti process
to improve oxygen transfer in the wastewater treatment process.
This has led to the Oxfiniti process typically producing 30%
energy savings in the oxygen transfer process and other
significant process, sludge treatment and H&S benefits.
The Oxfiniti Process is a new concept in wastewater treatment.
As well treating municipal wastewater (ASP), it is applicable to
industrial wastewater treatment, pollution remediation, storm
water treatment and other applications where an oxygen supply
is required.

New Concept in Oxygen Transfer

The Oxfiniti process offers a new concept in oxygen transfer. It incorporates five technological advances protected by IPR that enhance oxygen transfer.

  • abstracted from the basin and treated as a side stream and returned to main basin;

  • generates oxygen gas on site at low cost and low pressure. It is reliable and easily maintained;

  • modifies the molecular structure of the wastewater so that the oxygen dissolves molecularly in solution (~ 60%). The modified wastewater also picks up additional oxygen in the basin/ditch;

  • introduces the oxygen gas into the wastewater;

  • discharge designed to enhance ‘shear’ mixing.
